The 2 km rule
The Garage Act requires your parking space to be within 2 km of your place of use, in a straight line — not by road.
What is the "place of use"?
For individuals, usually your registered home address. For companies, the office where the car is used.
Over 2 km?
You need another space. Declaring a fake location (車庫飛ばし "garage skipping") is illegal.
